Building upon the success of the prior two ship classes Disney Cruise Line began work on their largest class yet under project Triton starting in 2016. This project would eventually create a new class of ships larger than anything DCL had produced before and represented a departure from the classic Ocean Liner aesthetic that had been the cruise line’s iconic trademark with the Magic & Dream Class vessels.
The ship began construction in 2020 by Meyer Werft in Germany. The COVID pandemic delayed the construction of the ship and also presented a number of challenges due to design teams unable to travel to visit the ship as it was built and outfitted.
The Wish Class represented changes in DCL’s philosophy. Gone were the adult only sections found in the bow of the Magic Class and Aft on the Dream Class ships. Instead Disney decided to intermix adult themed bars throughout the ship instead of concentrated in a single area.
The Oceaneers Club was now moved to Deck 2 from Deck 5 on the previous ships, but does feature a slide from Deck 3 into the kids club.
It also features dual movie theaters, the Wonderland Cinema and the Never Land Cinema compared to the single Buena Vista Theater on previous ships.
Pool Decks (Decks 11/12/13)

The Dream Features several pools spread out on decks 11 & 12.
Mickey’s, Minnie’s, Daisy’s, and Pluto’s Pools - Located Deck 11 mid-ship these are the main pool for the ship guests of all ages. Mickey’s Pool is located just behind the Funnel Vision. Minnie’s pool (the largest)l is more aft towards a grand staircase with steps up to the smaller Daisy’s and Pluto’s pools. The tiered arrangement allows more people to see the latest movie showing on Funnel Vision.
Quite Cove Adults Only Pool - Unlike the other ships in the fleet, the Adults Pool can be found on Deck 13 Aft along with the adults only whirlpool and Cove Cafe tucked away on the port side of the ship.
Aquaduck- Billed as the first Disney attraction at sea, the Aquaduck is a water coaster where one (or two) people sit atop a tube and are lifted into the air while watching a series of cartoons before dashing down the slide.
Nemo’s Splah Pad - Located to the aft of Mickey’s pool this is an area designed for toddlers and younger kids who may not be ready for the family pools.
AquaMouse - Located on Deck 12 aft this is an “Aqua coaster” style ride. Single or double riders use a tube to traverse this ride at sea. It is our favorite ride at sea on Disney ships at the moment.
Toy Story Splash Zone - This splash pad and kiddie water slide, the Slide-a-saurus Rex, are aimed at toddlers and younger kids themed around favorite Toy Story Characters.

The Pool deck features quick service dining options typically open from noonish until 9PM.
Mickey’s Smokehouse BBQ - A personal favorite of Mom this quick service station features a number of BBQ favorites including Pulled Port and Ribs.
Donald’s Cantina - A personal favorite of Dad, Donald’s Cantina features Tex-Mex favorites including Tacos, rice bowls, and more.
Daisy’s Pizza Pies - Emily’s favorite pizza join offering the standards of Cheese, Pepperoni, Margarita, and flavor of the day.
Goofy’s Grill - Offers American Classics of Hamburgers, Cheese Burgers, Chicken Tenders, and fries

Marceline Market (Free) - is the Ships’s Buffet open for Breakfast from 6:30 - 10:30AM & Lunch from 11:30ish - 2PM. It is located at the Aft of Deck 11. These times can vary depending on ports of call, sea days, etc. so check the Navigator App for times. The Buffet is not open for dinner or late night dining. Lunch often has seafood included at no additional charge such as peel and eat shrimp and crab legs in addition to many options from around the world.

The Wish places two large beverage stations a midship deck 11 on the port (left) and starboard (right) of the funnel. This puts drinks in easy to get to locations right next to the quick serve offerings.

Minnie’s Ice Cream (Free) - Serves up all you can eat Soft-Serve Ice Cream and is included at no extra charge.
Wheezy’s Freezies (Free) - Located on Deck 12 by the Toy Story Splash pad, Wheezy’s Freezies offers fruit based slushies and snacks for the entire family. It also offers a Disney favorite: Dole Whip!
Inside Out Joyful Sweets ($$$) - Joyful Sweets is themed around Inside out and Ryle’s memories. This shop features premium ice cream and gelato options with toppings as well as other offerings such as candy. However these servings do come at an additional cost. This location does cater to those with special dietary needs such as no-sugar ice cream for diabetics, vegetarian, and vegan friendly options.

The Pool Deck offers a few spots to quench that thirst or give you a morning/afternoon pick me up:
Wave’s Bar($$) - Located deck 12 behind of the rear funnel wave’s bar is very much a hidden spot that is never very busy. Mostly because most people probably don’t know it is there. If you are looking for a quite place to catch up on Emails or just to get away with a cocktail it’s worth checking out.
Cove Cafe ($$) - Is the onboard premium “Coffee Shop”. Located in the Adults Only Section on Deck 13 aft and offers premium spirits, espresso drinks for an additional fee per drink. They do offer a number of pastries that are free of charge. Cove Cafe is not easy to get to as there is only one way to the cafe as it is tucked away all the way around on the port (left) side of the ship.
Lookout ($$) - Located in the Mickey’s Festival of Foods area on Deck 11 midship, starboard (right), side Lookout offers a selection of beers on tap, in cans, as well as wine and cocktail options.
The Rose ($$) - Located Deck 12 Aft, Port (left) side The Rose is an upscale wine & cocktail bar and waiting area for the Adult only restaurants Enchante and Palo Steakhouse. This area is open more in the evening hours but does not require a reservation and is open to all guests 21 and older.
Cove Bar ($$) - Deck 13 Aft just in front of the Cove Pool is Cove Bar offering beers on tap, by the can, bottle, wine, spirits, and cocktails.
Kids Clubs

Small World Nursery is available to those with infants and toddlers looking for child care with kids too young for the Oceaneer’s Club & Lab. Use of the Small World Nursey does require additional fees and reservations which can be made in advance or within the Navigator App once onboard.

The Oceaneer’s Club & Lab are for kids that are potty trained from ages 5 - 10. Kids will need a DisneyBand + (or MagicBand+). If you do not have one you will be given one at check-in with a deposit billed to your cabin. You will receive a refund if returned by the end of the cruise.
The Oceaneer’s Club on the Dream features a main room with Pixie’s Hollow off the center often home to arts and crafts activities. The center features two mock ups of the Millennium Falcon with interactive Star Wars themed content and flight game where your Price or Princess can batted AT-AT walkers at Hoth.
The Oceaneer’s Lab has multiple bays around animation, video games, and a station where your prince or princess can control a virtual Dream and practice docking at Castaway Cay.
Between the Club and Lab is a long hallway that serves as the main arts and crafts area on the ship. Just make sure to take any animation cells or drawings your little one makes with you when you pick them up.
Kids that are 8 years and older can check themselves in and out of the kid’s club. Younger kids will need to be dropped off and picked up. You will receive a text in the Navigator App when they wished to be picked up.

Edge is the Tween focused club aimed at ages 11 - 14. It feature video game stations, a large screen TV with Disney movies shown throughout the day and a dance floor for parties and games. This is in addition to a variety of arts & crafts, karaoke, and themed activities.

Vibe is a loft inspired area designed for teenagers. Inside one will find gaming consoles, music, multiple TC’s, board games, and tablets.
Stateroom Types
Deck 8, Option Birthday Decor Amenity

Inside Cabins are often the cheapest fare and can be a bit smaller than other cabin classes. It’s a good option for those families with older kids who spend most of the cruise out and about only staying in the cabin for sleeping and changing outfits. If you are looking to save a few dollars trying out a new ship on an inteniary you’ve sailed before or if motion gets to you this can be a good option.

Oceanview rooms will run slightly more than an inside Cabin, but will offer one or two portals where one can look out upon the sea. This does make the rooms feel a bit larger without the expense of paying for a Verandah. Perfect for those who are a bit more claustrophobic yet do not spend much of the cruise in their stateroom. Oceanview rooms are typically our favorite type of stateroom when we travel.

Verandah cabins offer a private balcony with chairs and small table. They are also a little bit larger , thanks to that balcony, than most Oceanview cabins. This can be a great place to get away from the crowds and still gaze out into the ocean.
These are also more expensive than Inside or Oceanview cabins. For sailings to Alaska, the Mediterranean, or the Norwegian Fjords it maybe worth the premium. Also worth considering if you are the type of cruiser that stays in their room ore often or are traveling with younger kids that still take naps.

Concierge Class Cabins are the most expensive of any cruise and includes upgraded cabins similar to the Verandah Cabins and the option of various luxury suites. These cabins include Down Duvets, personal robe & slippers, and includes basic wi-fi service for each guest in the cabin on 1 device per guest.
In addition to the upgraded rooms sailing with Conierge Class grants you access to a private lounge at the terminal and the ability to book onboard activities 123 days prior to sailings regardless of your Castaway Club status. You will also be among the first to board the ship.
Once on board you will be treated to the exclusive Concierge lounge & special events.
Rotational Dining Restaurants

Animator’s Pallet on the Dream is located on Deck 3 Aft. An upgrade over the offerings on the Magic & Wonder you’ll experiance an interactive show with Crush from Finding Nemo as a collection of characters swim by as the evening unfolds. If you are lucky enough to sit by one of the screens Crush may even ask where you are from.
There is also the standard show taking you through the history of Disney Animation as drawings start out as pencil outlines and then gradually turn to color throughout the night until the shows ends with fully animated scenes from Disney Classics.
On 7 night and longer cruises everyone will be given a special placemat that allows you to draw your own character. Which then through the magic of pixie dust and Disney Animation be brought to life on the screens near your table.

Royal Palace is the “upscale” restaurant in the dining rotation. It offers an elegant dining room situated on Deck 3 midship serving French inspired dishes. If you are fans of the classics such as Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, or even newer classics such as Beauty and the Beast you find the decor charming.

The Enchanted Garden is the more “upscale” dining room on the Dream located Deck 2 midship. It stays with the theme of a villa in the French country side service fresh seasonal dishes and taking you through a skyscape that begins in the late afternoon through sunset to desert under the night’s sky.
Be sure to pick up a card from Mickey’s Detective Agency and join the adventure as you traverse the ship in search of your next clue to solve one of three mysteries on board.
Adult Only Sections

In addition to Singals on the Pool Deck, Deck 3 Forward offers several exclusive adults only areas. These areas usually open up in the afternoon until about midnights most nights of the cruise.
Cadillac Lounge - Cadillac is an upscale whiskey & piano bar located on the port (left) side of the ship. It’s not overly large but will feature live piano player singing smooth renditions of classic Disney songs as well as selections from a broader catalog.
Crown & Finn- A Proper English Pub Located on the starboard (right) side of the ship. it also serves as the on board sports bar often showing sporting events from around the world. Food such as wings and soft pretzels are also available for purchase in the evenings when most other dining options have closed.
French Quarter Lounge - During the day the French Quarter Lounge, Deck 3 Mid-ship, offers many family friendly arts & crafts and shows. In the evening it turns into a jazz club for all ages with plenty of seating and theming to match Tiana’s Place just to the aft of the lounge.

Azure - Azure replaces Fathoms as assembly point for many excursions, trivia contests, and adult only silent dance parties. Located Deck 3 Forward in the middle of the ship.

Carried over from the Magic Class vessels, Palo is Located Deck 12 Aft on the Starboard (right). Palo overs adult only speciality dining (Brunch & Dinner) with Italian food and requires advance reservations made prior to the cruise or onboard with guest services or through the navigator app if there is availability.

Located on Deck 12 Portside is Remy’s, an upscale restaurant featuring French inspired pairings for adults only. One of their signature items is their sourdough bread, which would be Emily’s favorite when she gets to join us when she turns 18.
Like Palo, reservations must be made ahead of time though online booking or via the Navigator’s App upon boarding.
Spa & Fitness
Deck 11 Forward

Senses Spa offers massages, couple massages, acupuncture, facials and other treatments. Services are priced at resort prices and there is definitely a pressure to upsell additional services or products. You do get discounts for booking multiple services and is worth getting the rainforest room on day of embarkation rather than purchasing in advanced online.

The Rainforest room can be booked for the entire cruise or just for a day pass. The Rainforest room features relaxing heated chairs, multiple themed showers and features a steam room, an aromatic steam room, and a dry sauna. An additional light steam room is available in the changing rooms as well.

The fitness center on the Dream is limited space wise. You will find enough machines and weights to do a total body workout as well as cardio on bikes or treadmills. However the amount of equipment is more limited than the Magic or Wish class vessels. You will find it hard to find open equipment during peak times, often early morning hours, however if you can time your work outs later in the day the space is usually open.
On Board Activities

Sail Away Party - right after the muster drill concludes the sail away party begins on deck with Captains Mickey, Minnie, and gang for a cheerful send off marking the true beginning of the cruise.
Till We Meet Again - The final night of the Cruise will feature 20 minutes of chaos as almost every character on the ship will be made available for autographs. Choose your top 1 or 2 as chances are you won’t be able to fit in more than that. So if there was one that you missed, this is your final chance on the cruise to snag that John Hancock.
Pirates in the Caribbean - For cruises to the Bahamas, Mexico, and Caribbean feature an entire evening with a special menu for dinner, a deck show with an appearance of everyone’s favorite pirate wondering why the Rum’s gone and finishes with the only Fireworks at Sea.

The Royal Tea must be booked, usually in advance, and commands a premium price. Your princess (or prince) will enjoy afternoon tea (or juice for the prince/princess) with a variety of tasty pastries and other desserts while meeting many of the Disney Princesses. Along with the food each price/princess will receive their own grown, cape, and tea set they can take home with them. Just don’t leave the crown on the floor where the dog can get to it and decide its a chew toy after you get home.

Unlike the Royal Tea, the Royal Gathering(s) are free, but you must sign up and reserve the date/time in advance (usually 30 days before sailing). This is the golden chance to meet all the princesses and get their autographs all in one 15 minute session.

Turn your prince or princesses into a literal princess with a make over, hair styling, and outfit to match. For many this is the highlight of the cruise as their child becomes magically transformed into a Price or Princess.
On Board Shopping

Mickey’s Main Sails contains the largest selection of pins, clothing, and toys available for purchase during the sailing.

White Caps features more upscale apparel from name brands as well as jewelry and sundries you may have forgotten like sunscreen, toothpaste, razors, bottles, and diapers.

Sea Treasures carries Disney Wonder specific merchandise including shirts, mugs, towels, and ears.

Located with Shutters, Diamonds & Wishes has watches and jewelry available at a range of prices. Although the selection on the Wonder will not be as extensive as on other ships such as the Wish class.
Stage Shows

The Golden Mickey’s take the form of an awards show for Disney classics complete with classic cameos of actors and actresses from their 1999 prime! This is a show that is showing its age, literally, as one is reminded of a much younger Tim Allen in 4:3 standard definition glory! There is a nostalgia factor for adults and the retro factor for younger generations.

This is the “big” broadway style show on the Wonder. Fitting for its often Arctic Adventures as the events, and songs, of the first Frozen movie is brought to life on stage.

Disney Dreams follows a young girl on the cusp of middle school and having to grow up unless Peter Pan and a menagerie of classic Disney characters can make her believe in Magic before the clock strikes 6AM.

On longer cruises it is typical to see the latest offering(s) from 20th Century Studios or Disney showing in the Walt Disney Theater. There will be other live performances such as magic shows, live music from on board performers, and even sing-a-longs to Disney Favorites.
